What you get to do:
As one of our Costume Characters, you’ll be the center of attention as you provide memorable connections with our guests. Your upbeat attitude and animated personality (not to mention your highly-recognizable costume) will make you the most popular person around. You will:

  • Interact with our guests, examples: shake hands, pose for pictures, give hugs, walk in character marches and dance in guest centered dance parties
  • Perform “Read With Me” sets while on live microphone
  • Act as a character host, where you will assist the characters and guests, and communicate information to the characters from the guests
  • Offer to help with a photo, give directions, engage in interactive play sets with kids and parents
  • Represent Busch Gardens brand with integrity and kindness both on and off set
  • Maintain safety standards
  • Other duties as assigned

What it takes to succeed:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • This is a performance position which requires an audition
  • Must be between 4’11” and 5’9″
  • Ability to wear a full body costume
  • Be personable and animated with a fun, outgoing personality
  • Able to lift and wear 45 pounds
  • Able to execute choreography and blocking for shows in full body costume
  • Able to carry weight of a full costume character for up to 1.5 hours at a time
  • Able to stand for up to 2 hours at a time
  • Will need to withstand the Florida weather while in costume
  • You will be asked to learn a dance combination and participate in improvisational acting and athletic stamina exercises
  • Must be able to effectively interact with guests of all ages, while representing the brand of Busch Gardens
