Casting the following Roles:

John Wilkes Booth Male Tenor: F2 to G4 An intelligent and eloquent Southern actor, burning with rage. Assassinated President Abraham Lincoln on April 14th, 1865.

The Balladeer Male Tenor: C3 to G4 A young singer, who acts as not only an occasional narrator, but the voice of reason and the eyes of America throughout our story.

Sara Jane Moore Female Alto: F3 to Eb5 A former CPA and FBI agent, now unemployed. Absent-minded, energetic and from the South. Attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford in 1975.

Samuel Byck Male Baritone: D3 to G4 A loudmouthed, unstable, middle-aged man who attempted to kill President Richard M. Nixon by hijacking a commercial jetliner and crashing it into the White House on February 22nd, 1974.

Giuseppe Zangara Male Tenor: B2 to A4 A small Italian immigrant who blames the intense pains in his stomach on the United States government. Attempted to assassinate President Franklin D. Roosevelt on February 13, 1933, but instead killed Anton Cermak, mayor of Chicago.

John Hinckley Male Tenor: A2 to G4 A young and socially inept man, whose obsession with actress Jodie Foster led him to try to assassinate President Ronald Reagan on March 30th, 1981.

Charles Guiteau Male Tenor: A2 to Ab4 A boisterous minister, author and lunatic who, upon learning that he could not be Ambassador to France, assassinated President James Garfield on July 2nd, 1881.

Lee Harvey Oswald Male Baritone: G3 to C4 A young, withdrawn man who allegedly assassinated President John F. Kennedy on November 22nd, 1963.

Leon Czolgosz Male Bass-Baritone: G2 to G4 A Polish immigrant and steel worker. Methodical, deliberate and explosive. Assassinated President William McKinley in 1901.

Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme Female Soprano: A3 to G5 A deeply disturbed young girl who believes that killing the President will enable her boyfriend—Charles Manson—to make a speech at her trial. Attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford in 1975.

The Proprietor Male Baritone: Gb2 to F4 A proprietor at a carnival. Sadistic, cunning and grinning from ear to ear.


Emma Goldman Female Spoken A strong woman whose anarchistic speeches made her an icon of the early 20th century.

Billy Male Spoken The son of Sara Jane Moore.

David Herold Male Spoken A co-conspirator with John Wilkes Booth, frightened and jumpy.

President James Garfield Male Spoken The 20th President of the United States.

President Gerald Ford Male Spoken The 38th President of the United States.

James Blaine Male Spoken Secretary of State to President James Garfield.-
