The 20th Century / Disney Plus show is now filming in the New Orleans area and Central Casting of Louisiana is looking for NOLA locals who would like to work as paid extras on set. The show begins filming in New Orleans in June.
The Disney+ show is based on the book of the same name by Kwame Alexander and will be executive produced by LeBron James. “The Crossover” was a book that was published in 2014. The book won the Newbery Medal and the Coretta Scott King Book Award Honor. Disney+ ordered the pilot for “The Crossover” last year, and the project was ordered to series which is now in production in NOLA.
“The Crossover” focuses on teen brothers Josh and JB Bell who is considered an amazing basketball player. The show is described as a coming of age story that is narrated by one of the brothers, Josh. The boys’ father is a retired professional basketball player who is struggling to to live a regular life, off the court.
According to Variety, Jalyn Hall stars as Josh Bell with Amir O’Neil starring as JB Bell. The series also features Derek Luke as Chuck Bell, Sabrina Revelle as Crystal Bell, Skyla I’Lece as Alex, Deja Monique Cruz as Maya, and Trevor Raine Bush as Vondie.

MINOR AND 18+ EXPERIENCED BASKETBALL PLAYERS

18+ Portraying NBA Basketball Players:
People (18+, any portrayable ethnicity) who appear to be 18 – mid 30s

to portray professional men’s league basketball players.

Filming in the greater New Orleans area.
Minor Players – Filming June – August (must be FULLY available for rehearsals and filming throughout the summer – Dates TBD)
18+ Players – Filming June (dates TBD; must be FULLY available for rehearsals and filming date(s))

*Basketball Tryouts on June 2nd from 10 AM – 6PM.*

Minor Basketball Players:
Can portray any ethnicity, 15-18 years old who are REAL basketball players.

We are looking to cast the Basketball team for the Main Actors and their opposing team.
Please submit a current photo, sizes and basketball experience and position(s). If chosen, you should have flexible availability to work June – August. You will have to test at least 48 hours prior to tryouts/rehearsal/fitting/filming. The adult taking you to set, will also have to test. These tests are mid-nasal.

Looking for women who can portray African American, portray ages 25-40,

and are familiar with different kinds of African style dance and men who can portray African American and have the ability to play a djembe drum.
Films in the New Orleans area.
Will be performing in a small scene set in the mid-19th century at Congo Square.
