A movie called “Black Spartans” filming in Atlanta.

The movie and the casting directors for the project are now seeking people that live in the Atlanta area to fill many, small, non speaking roles in the project.  This is a casting notice for paid extras and the roles that they are currently wanting to fill as well as the rate of pay are listed below.

The project is filming in the Atlanta area this fall and the casting directors are only seeking background actors that are local to the Atlanta area.

According to the movie’s IMDB page, the film is a drama that follows the first integrated football team – In the mid-1960s, social upheaval paved the way for the new order of college football, following the first fully integrated college football team that forever changed the face of the sport.

Written and directed by Ben Cory Jones (HBO’s Insecure), starring Neal McDonough (AHS), J. Alphonse Nicholson (P-Valley), Casey Cott (Riverdale), and a stunning supportive cast, this film is about the real-life untold story of the first fully integrated College Football team at Michigan State University, in the 1960s.

This film is set in 1960s, unfortunately that means we cannot cast BG with braids, dreads, twists, fades, unnatural hair colors, acrylic/gel/nail art/tips, face or heavy visible tattoos, gauges, or face piercings.

Casting is currently booking extras for the feature film “BLACK SPARTANS” in metro Atlanta for:
WEEK 4 – 10/3-10/7
WEEK 5 – 10/10-10/14

BENITA – Black, Female, 45-85 yo

THE DOORS – Featured, White, Male, 20-35

Performers will be miming to tracks by The Doors. Shoulder-length floppy, feathered, brown hair. Skinny, rocker, counter-culture looks. Ideally seeking to cast Drummer, Bassist, and Guitarist with hobbyist to intermediate skills.

BLACK STUDENTS – MLK speech & Fraternity Scenes, 18-27 yo

Seeking black students for MLK Jr. speech at Michigan State University. Must have period appropriate hair and some 1960s thrift attire to bring. Some students will be booked to repeat at Black Fraternity scene. Director is Kappa Alpha Psi alum, will have a step group and fun scenes to film! MEN MUST BE CLEAN SHAVEN.

Options to work: 10/3, 10/4, 10/5, 10/6, and 10/10.

FOOTBALL COACHES – White Men, 40-65 yo

To portray Football Coaches, Doctors, and Faculty Michigan State University in 1960s.
