Film Florida is proud to announce an all-new, statewide film challenge created exclusively for high school and college students across Florida—and it’s launching in a BIG way.

As part of the debut of the Film Florida TV streaming service, this exciting new film challenge gives student filmmakers the chance to have their work showcased on a brand-new streaming channel, featured alongside Florida-made content, and seen by audiences across the state and beyond.

Here’s the challenge:

To be eligible:

Students must be currently attending a Florida-based high school or college

Films must be shot entirely within the state of Florida

Submissions must be completed within the 10-day challenge window

This film challenge is about creativity, collaboration, and capturing the spirit of Florida—from its people and places to its energy, beauty, and surprises. Whether you’re a first-time filmmaker or a seasoned student creator, this is your chance to tell a story, meet a real-world deadline, and have your work streamed as part of Film Florida TV’s official launch.

If you’re interested in participating, please complete the form linked below with all required information by February 20. Applicants will receive additional details about the competition, including when to expect their prompt, prop, and line of dialogue.

SHOW INFORMATION: 

Participating students will have 10 action-packed days (March 6–16) to write, shoot, edit, and submit a short film—five minutes or less—inspired by Florida. Each team will receive a Florida-themed creative prompt and a required line of dialogue, then it’s up to them to bring the story to life in their own unique way.
