CASTING CALL: Disney+ TV Show “Genius” in Atlanta!

Background Actors- in Atlanta for the TV series “Genius.”

Seems that the show has been renewed for a new season, which will be season 4 of the television series. Disney+ and National Geographic are behind the show and Disney+ announced earlier this year that the series will be coming back for season 4 and that Reggie Rock Bythewood and Gina Prince-Bythewood will executive produce.

The show is setup as an anthology series. which means the stories being told change season to season and has been nominated for Emmy awards for the show which include a 2017 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or a Movie, Outstanding limited series and another for the theme music.

The show takes a look at, well, the untold stories of some of the world’s most brilliant minds and the innovations that they contributed.  Those interested in finding out where you can watch the show can check the TV Guide page which has that information.

The series and its casting team is looking for background actors that would like to work as paid background actors on “Genius” who also happen to live in and around the Atlanta, Georgia area where the series films.

Extras casting in Atlanta for “Megalopolis”

Megalopolis, the sci-fi movie from Francis Ford Coppola seems to now be in production in the Atlanta area and is in need of paid movie extras. Filming is set to begin shortly, in November and the movie will be in production into March of 2023.

The movie has been long awaited, like over a decade, and is said to be filming using some groundbreaking technology. The company, Prysm Stages in Atlanta has announced that Megapolis will be the first movie to film on one the brand new stages which they are calling LED volume stage which is located at the Trilith studios compound in Georgia. The company commented that the stage offers “a best-in-class ecosystem for physical production, including practical lighting, grip and camera, integrated into a state-of-the-art virtual production volume.” The movie is being produced by Michael Berman who stated that the high tech stage offers the best of digital and physical filming formats.

The movie seems to have put together a Mega cast. The film is described as a passion project of Francis Ford Coppola that has gone through numerous setbacks, including the shutdowns over the pandemic. Mega will star Adam Driver (Star Wars Franchise), Forest Whitaker, Jon Voight, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Laurence Fishburne. Also announced was that the cast may include Coppola’s sister Talia Shire (The Godfather films) with her son Jason Schwartzman (Hunger Games prequel film, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes) along with Shia LaBeouf (Transformers) and others.

“The Idea of You” is holding a casting call in Atlanta for Teens to play students.

Anne Hathaway plays Sophie and will star alongside British actor Nicholas Galitzine who plays Hayes Campbell. The upcoming movie is based on a novel written by Robinne Lee. Lee will co-producer “The Idea of You” with Anne Hathaway. The story is about a divorced woman named Sophie, she is 40 years of age, with kids and recently divorced. Sophie gets into a relationship with a British pop star named Hayes Campbell who is part of a popular boy band.

The movie will be released on Amazon Prime, sometime next year.

Get cast in a Disney Movie in Atlanta.

The Disney+ production of “Slumber Party” has begun in the Atlanta area and extras casting directors for Disney have a casting call out for extras.

The Movie is an original production that is set to air on Disney+ and filming just began and will continue for the next few months. The project is aimed at teens and follows an event that surrounds a characters 14th birthday party. The movie is part of the slew of original content that Disney has been working on for their streaming platform, Disney+.

Please note that this is filming in the Atlanta, Georgia area and that these are non speaking roles.  The extras casting directors are only considering background talent that lives in and around the Atlanta, Georgia area.

Hylton Casting is currently casting Background Actors for the Disney+ film The Slumber Party to work in scenes filming on: Thursday, 11/10/22 in Fairburn, GA.

COVID-19 testing will be required on Tuesday, 11/8/22 in Atlanta,GA.

Please note- you must be fully vaccinated plus booster to work on this production.

BACKGROUND ROLES:

EXTERIOR EATING COMPETITION AND FALL FESTIVAL SCENES

  • Festival Goers – All genders and ethnicities, ages 18+
  • There will be approximately 295 extras total working these scenes.
  • These will be exterior scenes and background actors may bring blankets or camping chairs, lawn chairs, etc. (if you have one) for comfort purposes. These items should not contain logos.
  • These will be day scenes.

FILMING DATE- Thursday, 11/10/22

  • COVID-19 testing will be required on Tuesday, 11/8/22 .
  • You must be available for a 12 hour filming day or longer on set.
  • Call time will not be provided until the day before the filming date. Please do not submit if you do not have open availability for the filming date listed above.

FILMING LOCATION: Fairburn, GA. (southern Fulton County)
